The modul-dance selected artist Marcos Morau has been awarded the Spanish National Dance Prize in the Creation category.
The jury by majority highlighted his “ability to create with the company La Veronal, a unique choreographical label that, with different works inspired by different human geographies, defines an already internationally recognized project“.
Awarded by the Ministry of Culture, the National Awards are the highest prizes in Spain regarding cultural contributions.
Marcos Morau won many prizes at national and international choreographic contests as the Choreographic Contest of Madrid, Fira de Tàrrega, MasDanza Maspalomas and International Choreographic Contest of Copenhagen amongst others.
In 2005 he created La Veronal, a company formed by artists from the dance, film and theater field. The artistic team purpose lies directly on a constant search for new expressive media, for cultural references (cinema, literature, music and photography) to bet on a strong narrative language with the intention of forming global art spaces that shape the inner world of their pieces.
